Eric Robinson Inc. (part 1)
August 13, 2007 at 12:37 pm | In Eric C. Robinson Inc., Get to Know a Farmer | No Comments
Let me tell you a little bit about the farm’s history. Eric Robinson took over the small family farm in Augustine Cove, Prince Edward Island from his father in 1942. Eric Robinson Inc. has grown a lot since then. The farm now consists of 2500 acres of farm fields and forested land
Lori Robinson, Eric’s granddaughter, manages the farm division. She is responsible for the management of the farmland as well as the operation of the packing facility.
Lori grew up working on the farm doing practically every job from planting to packing. She took over operation of the farm division in 2005.
Lori is very aware of all the issues of farming today. It’s not just about making money these days. Protecting the soil is very important to her since it is the future of her family. She is also very concerned about the state of the environment – protecting wildlife habitat and biodiversity is a big issue for her as well. Lori and Eric Robinson Inc. are very active in these areas. Over the next few weeks I’ll tell you about some of the projects they have undertaken to improve their soil and benefit the environment.
Stay tuned!
